Spring Summer 2020 and The Royal Ascot Style Guide

So spring in the millinery industry is looking very different this year….with the UK in lock down and events cancelled it is still unclear if we will see the social season at all…..more a case of social distancing season…

But we always work ahead of the season, so our Spring / Summer collection is already done and dusted and the Royal Ascot Style Guide is already published (featuring us for the second year in a  row!) and we have delivered a collection exclusively for Fenwicks of Bond Street…….

The sadness of having to close our shop and for Fenwicks to also be shut for the foreseeable whilst this pandemic takes hold is truly heartbreaking for myself and the team who have been working tirelessly to create new designs during our quieter winter months ready for the summer hat season……

We have all the imagery and all the products so lets share it with you! Most pieces are available to buy directly from our website, if you cant see a design on this blog post in our online shop that you fancy, please do get in touch! – it may just be out on press calls or we can make another one for you.

The Royal Ascot Style Guide 2020

We are honoured to have had one of our hats featured in the Royal Ascot Style Guide for a second year in a row.

The Style guide is the epitome of the social season style, with British designers at the forefront show casing look s and giving style guidance for one of the most famous events of the social season. Dress codes may seem strict to the outsider, but I always say, that it is Royal Ascot, and anyone who attends is their as a guest to her Majesty the Queen.

The dress code only dictates what is appropriate for such a royal occasion, if you were meeting the queen what would you choose to wear? Is the Queen going to attend without a hat? no, so it is just about respect for the royal occasion, if you think about it in these terms then the ‘rules’ don’t seem so strict. The guide offers advice for what to wear at all the different ticketing levels
