Meet the Team

In the past, we’ve posted many a blog post about things that are going on in the shop, what we sell and other events we get involved with, this time we decided to create a post about the team. A little insight in to each of us, our roles within the business and what we love about being a part of it! Obviously, because we aren’t all in the shop at the same time, many of you probably haven’t gotten the chance to meet all of us! And if you haven’t visited us before, this might give you a little idea as to what to expect from us.

I have been working for Beverley for about 3 1/2 years now – not bad when I started as a Christmas temp! My job is primarily as a sales assistant, though I also do a lot of the website and social media related work.

What is your favourite thing about being part of the Beverley Edmondson Millinery team?

“I love that we are quite a close knit team. We all have slightly different tastes, ideas, strengths and weaknesses and I think we do a great job of using all of them to our advantage to help with the day to day running of the shop and, of course, to create something special for our customers.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“I love this time of year. When the shop is regularly full of excited race-goers, mothers of brides/ grooms etc. It tends to be when we get to be our most creative, and really get a sense of achievement at the end of the day. There is never enough space in the shop, and there are hats and fascinators everywhere, but the atmosphere just makes everything so worth it!”

Do you have a favourite piece in the shop at the moment? If so, which one and why?

“It’s so difficult to pick out just one! Especially with them flying in and out of the shop at the rate they do this time of year. I think one of them definitely has to be the pink saucer with the paper flowers from this year’s signature collection. It’s just such a stunning piece of work, and so effective, especially the way the roses underneath fit around the top of the head. Of the less extravagant pieces, I’m a big fan of the new ‘wave’ beret shape, I love how it frames the face, and it doesn’t even need much in the way of trimmings to be effective, the shape speaks for itself.”
